When you are looking for a top-of-the-line inverter that is completely "hands-free" you will want to know more about the Premier Pallet Changer. This is a totally state-of-the-art pallet transfer system, complex in comparison with some of the other models, but totally effective.
In fact, the Pallet Changer design was conceived in the 1990's and has been undergoing constant improvements to make it the versatile system it is now. The applications of pallet changers were somewhat limited but the modifications we have made increase its viability enormously.
The major feature of the Pallet Changer that sets it apart from other models is the facility to switch pallets without ever touching them by hand. Its primary applications have been in the pharmaceutical and food industries, transferring raw materials to plastic or other hygienic skids and conversely switching finished goods to shipping skids.
The Premier Pallet Changer has a series of operating functions, PLC controlled and totally automated. The sequence begins when the operator has loaded the machine, normally by hand or powered pallet truck.
At the touch of a "start sequence" button the pallet is gripped hydraulically, a top clamp comes down and rests on the stack while sidewalls come in to contain it on either side. The Pallet Changer then tilts back so that the goods are resting on their side, then the loading table returns to floor level with the empty pallet on it. This can now be swapped by pallet truck and the operator can instigate the return sequence. The system takes less than 2 minutes to complete its cycle allowing the user to wheel away the product on a new pallet.
The Pallet Changer will adapt to all conventional sized pallets, with loads up to 76 inches high and 3300lbs in weight. It is guarded in an enclosed mesh cage with photobeam protection at the front.
Manual handling of the pallets can be totally eliminated with the use of two simple pallet stackers adjacent to the Changer. One receives the old pallet, the other dispenses a new one at floor level. This entirely avoids the risks associated with lifting heavy pallets by hand, often a 2-person operation.
Though it may not be an inexpensive option, the Pallet Changer is a valuable and sophisticated addition to the Premier range.
